About the project

In 2017 Warrior Group was selected to work with the Dubai Sports Council and create the region’s first and only night-time obstacle course race, that would be a part of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum’s NAS Sports Tournament, held every year during Ramadan.

It was our goal to create an OCR experience unlike any other, highly engaging, entertaining, and full of community spirit. Participants from around the region compete in this incredible event comprising of up to 5km of testing trails and epic obstacles for the coveted prizes.

Over the past years, this annual event has grown to be one of the UAE’ favorites. The challenge of designing new and exciting obstacles and continuously aiming to deliver world-class experiences has been something our team has reveled in and looks forward to doing more of in the future.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear to avoid discomfort or injuries during the race?

Participants are recommended to wear lightweight, moisture-wicking clothing and sturdy running shoes with good grip. Gloves might also help for climbing obstacles or handling rough surfaces.

How do I safely tackle obstacles if I’m not very fit?

The course is designed for all fitness levels. If you struggle with an obstacle, focus on maintaining your balance, follow any posted instructions, and don’t hesitate to ask a marshal for guidance. Skipping obstacles is an option, but it’s always worth giving them a try.

What happens if I feel unwell or get injured during the race?

There are medics stationed along the course to assist in case of emergencies. Stop immediately and alert a nearby marshal or fellow participant for help.

Can I prepare for the course if I’ve never done something like this before?

Yes! It’s a good idea to practice basic exercises like running, climbing, and balance drills. Some gyms even offer obstacle course training sessions to help build your confidence.

How can I keep my belongings safe while participating in the race?

Most events offer a secure bag drop service. Avoid bringing valuables, but if you need to, place them in a waterproof, sturdy bag and ensure they’re securely locked in the designated storage area.
