TROY GILLHAM ADDRESSES FUJAIRAH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ADVENTURE TOURISM
Warrior Group's CEO joins panel on investment and growth opportunities in the global adventure industry.
Troy Gillham, CEO and Founder of Warrior Group, participated in the Fujairah International Conference on Adventure Tourism on 30 April 2025, joining Panel ‘Investment and Growth: Opportunities and Challenges in the Adventure Industry’ alongside operators, investors, and tourism authorities gathered in Fujairah to examine the future of experiential travel across the UAE and the wider region.
The conference brought together a cross-sector audience to address the infrastructure, investment, and operational models that can turn natural assets into sustainable tourism destinations. Panel focused on the commercial dimension: where the capital is coming from, where the returns are being generated, and what the structural challenges are that prevent more of the region’s adventure potential from being realised at scale.
Troy Gillham’s contribution drew on Warrior Group’s position across the full investment and delivery cycle in adventure tourism. The group has worked with government clients and private operators to assess the feasibility of adventure destinations, design and build the infrastructure, certify and install the equipment, and manage day-to-day operations – giving it an unusual visibility into where the economics work and where they break down. That end-to-end perspective gave the panel a practitioner’s view of the gap between projected returns and operational reality.
The Fujairah context was directly relevant. The emirate has been investing deliberately in its outdoor and adventure offer, leveraging the Hajar mountain terrain and coastline that give it a geographic profile unlike anywhere else in the UAE. Warrior Group’s construction and expansion of Fujairah Adventure Park, delivering the GCC’s highest Giant Swing, a dual zipline, a multi-use adventure tower, and archery and axe-throwing ranges, all within six months across rugged mountain terrain, is one of the most visible examples of that investment being translated into a commercially operating destination.
The panel also addressed the challenge of maintaining consistent safety standards as the sector expands across different markets, particularly where regulatory frameworks are still evolving.
Warrior Group’s participation in the Fujairah conference reflects its ongoing involvement in industry discussions around the development and long-term viability of adventure tourism across the GCC.
